The association “ZARA – Civil Courage and Anti Racism Work” is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. To mark this special occasion, ZARA warmly invites you to ZARA – a benefit event that will take place on September 19, 2024, starting at 6:00 PM at Kulturhaus Brotfabrik in Vienna. ZARA was founded in 1999 with the goal of promoting civil courage and fostering a society critical of racism. Since then, our multidisciplinary team of nearly 20 experts has been advocating for the rights of marginalized communities, providing legal support to those affected, and offering essential resources to promote an inclusive society. This persistent work is underpinned by the annually published Racism Report, which strongly advocates for the necessity of a National Action Plan.

ZARA is both a celebration of ZARA’s achievements to date and a powerful call to society to continue the collective fight against hate and discrimination. The evening will be moderated by stage poet Iris Neuberg, who will guide the audience through a diverse program. Guests can look forward to inspiring contributions from the fields of music, comedy, and culture, including performances by singer and Eurovision finalist TEYA, comedian Steffi Stan, and the contemporary jazz band Golnar & Mahan Trio. An interactive panel talk with well-known influencers on the topic of online hate will round off the program.
“Our commitment over the past 25 years shows how much we can achieve together when we stand united as a community. Especially in view of the upcoming national elections and the uncertain political situation, it is more important than ever to support projects like ZARA and to send a strong message against hate,” emphasizes Rita Isiba, Managing Director of ZARA.
All proceeds from the evening will go directly to supporting ZARA’s work, further expanding assistance for victims of hate and discrimination. Tickets are limited and available now. For those who cannot attend in person, there is the option to follow the event via livestream.
