This year’s BFW sees LD-13 present the WARDROBE CHESS collection

LD-13 "WARDROBE CHESS symbolizes the battle with oneself. Fears and uncertainties that we often only face within ourselves – but also the light in the darkness, the hope we carry within us."

On February 8th, Lisa Deurer, designer and founder of the fashion label LD-13, showcased her collection WARDROBE CHESS at STATION Berlin. After presentations at Paris and New York Fashion Week, this was the first runway show in her home country. The label impressed with a collection that stayed true to the guiding principle of “more from less”.

The label, founded and based in New York in 2021, stands for season-independent women’s and unisex collections and impresses with visionary design and holistic details. Designer Lisa Deurer, who graduated from the renowned Parsons School of Design (NY), questions
existing structures and places art and craftsmanship at the center of her work. This results in creations inspired by global communities, yet aiming to evoke the feeling of individual uniqueness. In the eyes of the designer, individuality should unite rather than separate.

With the runway show as part of Berlin Fashion Week, the designer presented her collection for the first time in her home country.

LD-13 “WARDROBE CHESS Symbolism

LD-13 “WARDROBE CHESS symbolizes the battle with oneself. Fears and uncertainties that we often only face within ourselves – but also the light in the darkness, the hope we carry within us,” says Lisa Deurer. The designer presents shapes, prints, and materials that everyone has probably seen before in different contexts – in her distinct design language. The LD-13 color scheme of black, white, and red meets complex cuts and tailored signature details, such as the pointed shoulder and unique collar shape. The new collection includes dramatic coats and
jackets made of satin, transparent and graphic details in the form of shirts and dresses. Among the highlights of the runway presentation were the sculptural shoulder cape made of fluffy mohair, the oversized scarf that offers different styling options though its multiple neck openings, as well as the final look: a knitted jacket in the shape of an oversized
hand.
