Lagos Fashion Week Sets 2026 Season Around Craft, Heritage and Circular Futures

Lagos Fashion Week 2026

Lagos Fashion Week has announced its 2026 season, bringing designers, creatives, buyers, media and fashion audiences together in Lagos from 28 October to 1 November. Under the theme CRAFTED: Heritage. Innovation. Circular Futures., the season will examine how African fashion can draw from its history while developing new approaches to design, production and sustainability.

The programme will open with a Welcome Party on 28 October before three days of runway shows from 29 to 31 October at the LagosFW Tents at Federal Palace Hotel. The season will conclude with offsite shows across Lagos on 1 November.

Where Heritage Meets Innovation

CRAFTED places making at the centre of the 2026 season. The theme explores the knowledge and skills behind African fashion, bringing heritage techniques into conversation with contemporary design, innovation and new approaches to the industry’s future.

The campaign extends this idea through a contemporary interpretation of the African studio portrait. The visual language draws from a long tradition of using portrait photography to document people, identity, personal style and moments of cultural significance.

Photographed by Daniel Obasi, the campaign brings together a cast of models in a series of considered portraits. Fashion, styling, texture and composition take a central role, creating a collective image of the energy and individuality of contemporary African fashion.

The campaign also expands the meaning of craft beyond the finished garment. It considers how fashion is made, presented and experienced, while placing greater attention on material knowledge, heritage and the possibilities of a more circular fashion system.

Lagos as a Global Fashion Platform

The 2026 season continues Lagos Fashion Week’s role as a platform for designers and creatives developing new perspectives on African fashion. Its programme is expected to create opportunities for creative exchange between designers and an international network of buyers, media, industry professionals and fashion audiences.

The focus on circular futures also places the season within a wider conversation around how the fashion industry can rethink its relationship with materials, production and consumption. Rather than treating heritage and innovation as opposing ideas, CRAFTED positions them as connected parts of fashion’s future.

The season is title-sponsored by Heineken, with NIVEA, Africa Finance Corporation and Lush Hair among its key partners.

For Lagos Fashion Week, CRAFTED is ultimately an invitation to look more closely at the people and processes behind African fashion. By placing heritage, innovation and circularity within the same framework, the 2026 season aims to position African creativity within an increasingly global conversation about where fashion is going next.
