The Ancient Goddesses of Ivan Grundahl SS18

Ivan Grundahl

Founded in 1973, Ivan Grundahl established himself as one of Denmark’s avant-garde designers with a dark and moody aesthetic. After the death of Grundahl, Roy Krejberg, a former Kenzo designer became creative director of the Danish brand. He continued the heritage of the fashion house with its rebellious spirit and focus on deconstructed fashion.

The Ivan Grundahl SS18 collection features a selection of long, asymmetrical dresses and feminine, contemporary suits. Opening the show with a color palette of white and creme tones, the collection was later on added with shades of blue, black and grey. While the cuts were starting with a lot of asymmetrical lines and deconstructed fabrics, the suits later one became sharper and the collection terminated with a selection of draped dresses in beautiful deep colors. The black finale dress embodied the Scandinavian minimalism with a long soft silhouette and a simple cut out at the décolleté in silk.

Krejberg followed the aesthetic of Grundahl with deconstructed, asymmetric dresses, a mixture of textiles and a focus on the female silhouette. Ivan Grundahl SS18 has a dramatic look with strong colors and hits the point between dramatic avant-garde fashion and wearability that will be highly enjoyed by Ivan Grundahl’s customers.
