Tangoli’s Soft Riot Turns Dressing Into an Act of Play

Tangoli Soft Riot

Tangoli’s new collection, Soft Riot, approaches dressing as a creative game. The Paris-based label reworks garments and fabric stories to imagine a form of femininity that is soft yet bold, instinctive, free and always changing.

The collection brings light lace together with vivid colours, while transparencies and layers create combinations that shift from one look to another. The effect is similar to a collage built directly on the body, where each element can be moved, mixed and reconsidered.

At the centre of Soft Riot is an imperfect form of romance. Delicate details meet a more rebellious desire to experiment, creating what Tangoli describes as an “intimate rave” made through overlaps, gestures and small changes.

This approach makes getting dressed part of the creative process. Trying, mixing, making mistakes and playing become as important as the finished look.

Founded by Alessandra Donato, Tangoli grew from a commitment to craftsmanship, sustainability and the art of making. The Paris-based label gives new life to forgotten materials, including deadstock from couture houses and upcycled garments, with each piece reimagined by hand.

The label’s approach also reflects a wider interest in extending the life of what already exists. Its designs draw on fluid silhouettes, delicate details and soft tones, while each creation is made in the Parisian atelier or by local artisans.

For Tangoli, this work is about more than creating clothes. It is also about reconsidering how they are made, worn and valued.

The label extends this idea through its upcycling workshops, where it shares its approach to making with a wider community. The aim is to encourage a more thoughtful and creative relationship with dressing.

With Soft Riot, that philosophy takes on a more playful form. The collection does not treat sustainability as a restriction. Instead, it turns existing materials, changing combinations and imperfect choices into opportunities for experimentation.

The result is a romantic wardrobe with a rebellious edge, where softness does not rule out boldness and dressing becomes an invitation to play.
