Arivla, an e-commerce platform for indigenous fashion, held its anticipated Asoebi Party and Fashion Show on Friday, December 13, 2024, at The Podium, Lagos. Themed “Old Money vs. New Money,” the event not only honored Nigerian fashion and culture but also created a vibrant space for fashion lovers, industry leaders, and creatives to connect, celebrate, and be inspired.
With creative settings, such as a traditional palm wine station that reflected the beauty of Nigerian heritage, the venue perfectly conveyed the theme. Guests were fully immersed in the Owambe experience with a live band playing soulful Yoruba and Fuji songs, like a traditional Nigerian party. The ambiance was festive, with beers, palm wine, soda, and trays of small chops served throughout the evening. Models walked the runway in striking old-money and new-money-inspired outfits, gracefully interpreting the theme. Guests also embraced the theme wholeheartedly, arriving in beautiful attires that elevated the evening’s elegance.
The fashion show featured stunning collections from top Nigerian designers such as Marté Egele, Bibi Lawrence, Nichole Stylish, Black Adudu, Looks Like a Good Man, Essien, and HRH Luxury. A standout moment was T. Atelier’s collection, which was uniquely introduced through an innovative 3D AI display.
The exhibition showcased a wide range of vendors, including House of Tara, ATS Spa, Funtok Fabrics, SAS Textiles, Headies by Omah, and Maxdent, among others, giving guests an overview of Nigeria’s thriving creative sector.
At the event, Dr. Mrs. Ivy Okike-Fatusin, CEO and Founder of Arivla, expressed her enthusiasm, stating: “It’s truly inspiring to see everyone not only looking stunning but fully embracing the theme with such elegance and creativity. This event is more than a celebration of fashion—it’s a testament to the power of culture and creativity to bring people together, spark meaningful connections, and showcase the richness of our heritage in ways that resonate deeply with all who are here.”
The Arivla Asoebi Party and Fashion Show, which also featured drink partners such as Veuve du Vernay Africa, Odogwu Bitters, Pepsi, Lisa Ice, Goldberg, and Life, ended with an after-party filled with celebration and networking.
The Asoebi Party and Fashion Show marked the official opening of Arivla’s platform, which is dedicated to promoting Nigerian culture and fashion globally.
