Wind shapes the earth. The sea catches the light. Between these two elements, the new journey of Niū takes shape, travelling to Turkey for Spring/Summer 2027, a land suspended between East and the Mediterranean, where landscapes, traditions and culture become sources of creative inspiration.
The Turquoise Women is the name of the new collection: a story of a free, authentic and ever-moving femininity, inspired by the painterly world of Turkish artist Hülya Özdemir, who is also at the heart of an exclusive collaboration with Niū. Two of her artworks are translated into prints applied to T-shirts in the collection, bringing together the artist’s language and the brand’s creative vision.
As with every Niū journey, the starting point is never the destination itself, but the dialogue that emerges with its culture, landscapes and traditions. Turkey becomes a world of influences that the brand observes, experiences and reinterprets through its own language, transforming the memory of places into a collection that brings together research, freedom and a contemporary spirit.
Between the sculpted landscapes of Cappadocia and the crystalline light of the Turquoise Coast, a woman takes shape who evolves with the landscape. At times intense and contemplative, at others luminous and dynamic, she experiences travel as a continuous discovery, finding her most authentic expression in the encounter between different worlds.
This duality runs throughout the collection. Silhouettes become fluid, volumes soft and essential constructions engage with elements of Turkish tailoring traditions, reinterpreted through Niū’s contemporary perspective. The asymmetric fastenings of traditional dress, the stripes of caftans, the şalvar trouser and motifs drawn from textile craftsmanship become contemporary details, keeping alive the connection to the culture that inspired them.
Colour also tells the story of this journey. Cappadocia’s mineral and earthy tones meet the blues, greens and Mediterranean light of the Turquoise Coast in a palette that traces the passage from materiality to lightness, from the silence of rock to the movement of the sea. Prints inspired by botanical symbols and motifs from local traditions complete the story with a delicate painterly language of nuances, transparencies and textures.
Between the strength of the earth and the lightness of light, The Turquoise Women portrays a woman who finds in travel not a destination, but a way of looking at the world.
