The New Faces Awards from the people magazine Bunte are not only one of the coolest parties on the Berlin event scene, but also one of the most coveted awards for young talent. Last Thursday evening (July 4), hundreds of celebrities and prominent figures from fashion, lifestyle and entertainment came to the stylish Fotografiska Museum in Berlin Mitte at the invitation of Bunte to celebrate style-setting talents in the field of fashion and style.

Innovative talents honored

At the 24th New Faces Award Style ceremony , Bunte awarded a total of four Red Panthers: Estelle Adeline Trasoglu was honored as the best young designer with her upcycling label “Plaid-à-Porter” (founded in 2023). The Red Panther for “Young Fashion Design”, worth 5,000 euros , was presented to her by Perwoll brand ambassador and laudator Rebecca Mir. Content creator Felipe Pelaez was also delighted when last year’s winner and laudator Tarik Tesfu presented him with the New Faces Award as the winner in the “Social Style Hero” category. The Bunte editorial team had already announced Ana Kohler as a “Young Style Icon” . She accepted her Red Panther from laudator and new jury member Eva Padberg to great applause. In the category “Disruptive Mind by glo”, the community voted with over 8,000 votes in the last two weeks and chose interior upcycling artist and design student Marcella Duske as the winner. Model and laudator Kim Hnizdo presented the award to the beaming winner.

The other nominees in the “Young Fashion Design” category were also among the lucky winners. Jelizaveta Hagleitner with designer Beatričė Ceizarienė (contemporary fashion brand “Right Direction”) as well as Nhu-Ha Dao and Charlotte Piller (slow fashion label “Lotta Ludwigson”) also received prize money of 2,500 euros each from New Award Style partner Perwoll, Henkel’s detergent brand. Presenter Jenny Augusta led the stylish award ceremony.

Stylish Panther party with hundreds of celebrity guests

At the after-show party, around 300 invited guests celebrated with the nominees and winners of the New Faces Award Style 2024 until the early hours of the morning. Among them were Jeanette Biedermann, Elena Carrière, Joelina Drews, Ulrike Frank, Mark Keller, Kilian Kerner, Sonja Kiefer, Roman Knižka, Rebecca Kunikowski, Julia Malik, Rebecca Mir, Alexandra Polzin, Lina Larissa Strahl and Felix von Jascheroff . As well as the New Faces Award Style jury members Eva Padberg, Thomas Hayo, Judith Dommermuth, Kristian Schuller, Julian Daynov, Julia Zirpel, Teresa Klamert and Petra Pfaller.

“We understand style as a holistic discipline – as an expression of personality, craftsmanship, talent, vision – and often also a socially relevant concern. This year’s New Faces Award style winners clearly focus on three aspects: innovation, authenticity, and sustainability. With the nomination for the New Faces Award and its presentation to young up-and-coming talents, Bunte, as an influential people and society magazine, generates what you need most at the start of a career: (media) attention and appreciation.”

The winners & reasons at a glance

“Young Fashion Design” – Estelle Adeline Trasoglu / Upcycling label “Plaid-à-Porter”

“Fashion and the impulse to buy it and then wear it again and again is always an emotional decision. The colorful patchwork designs by Estelle Adeline Trasoglu for her label ‘Plaid-à-Porter’ tell stories that arouse emotions and make her plaids into imaginative objects of desire. With her collection, Estelle has managed to create her own unmistakable fashion DNA in which the factors of inclusivity, wearability and environmental awareness co-exist as if by magic. ‘Plaid-à-Porter’ succeeds, seemingly with ease, in one of the most desirable compliments in fashion design: recognition value!” – judges the New Faces Award Style jury.

“Social Style Hero” – Content Creator Felipe Pelaez

“Felipe has a clear and important message, which he formulates unobtrusively, charmingly and intelligently: fashion knows no boundaries, and certainly no gender boundaries or social norms. With his style, he tastefully celebrates crossdressing, breaks down clichés and reinterprets them for himself and his followers. An extremely cool approach and attitude.” – judges the New Faces Award Style jury.

“Young Style Icon” – Model & Singer Ana Kohler

“Ana Kohler doesn’t fit into any category. She is a communication artist. Her great success on TikTok and in social media, where she now has millions of fans following her, is more due to her cosmopolitanism, her zest for life and her authenticity than to the respective ‘OOD’. In the sea of social media channels seething with egos, vanities and emotions, Ana is a small island of authenticity.” – judges the Bunte editorial team

“Disruptive Mind by glo” – interior upcycling artist and design student Marcella Duske (community voting)

The top-class jury of the New Faces Award Style 2024

This year, top-class representatives from the fashion and lifestyle industry once again voted on the winners in the categories “Young Fashion Design” and “Social Style Hero”: model Eva Padberg, fashion photographer Kristian Schuller , creative directors Julian Daynov , Thomas Hayo and Julia Zirpel , Scott Lipinski (Fashion Council Germany), designers Marina Hoermanseder and last year’s winner Teresa Klamert , label owner Judith Dommermuth (Juvia) and Petra Pfaller (fashion director & member of the Bunte editorial team).

The Bunte New Faces Award Style 2024 ceremony was supported by partners glo (BAT), Perwoll (Henkel) Skechers, Waldorf Astoria Berlin and L’Osteria.
