Under the title “Beyond reality with GLÜCK: a surrealistic dreamscape,” a fashion presentation of a special kind will take place on February 7, 2024. The fashion label GLÜCK, founded in Ukraine, will showcase its new haute couture line during Berlin Fashion Week and announces, “When you experience GLÜCK, you leave the ordinary and enter something
playful and imaginative.”
GLÜCK was founded in Kyiv in 2019 and is not just a clothing brand –it embodies a mood, an atmosphere. Starting with its name: GLÜCK means ‘hallucinations’ in Ukrainian and ‘happiness’ or ‘luck’ in German. The fashion label, which now has its headquarters in Berlin, plays with this ambiguity and redefines party wear – with growing success. Designer Egor
Bashtovenko specializes in creations made of patent leather and mesh fabric and also experiments with new shapes, silhouettes, as well as innovative and difficult-to-process textiles.
It is therefore not surprising that biotechnological processes are being used to create new designs. For the upcoming collection, textiles made from mushrooms, among other things, will be implemented. The design process is also noteworthy: “What sets GLÜCK apart is our commitment to uniqueness in fabric and design. We start with the creation of haute couture pieces, each one a work of art, and then let ourselves be inspired by them for our ready-to-wear collections,” explains Egor Bashtovenko.
During Berlin Fashion Week, GLÜCK will present its new haute couture line. The show concept was selected and awarded a prize money within the competition “Berlin Contemporary” by the Senate Department for Economic Affairs, Energy and Public Enterprises as well as the Fashion Council Germany. The show title already reveals that it will not be a conventional presentation. “It will not only be a runway show, it will be an atmospheric journey. We will present pieces that immerse their wearers and viewers in a different world – a place beyond reality,” says the designer. The fashion performance “Beyond reality with GLÜCK: a surrealistic dreamscape” will take place on February 7, 2024, at 1 p.m. at the nHow Hotel Berlin (by invitation only).
