Hair Care for Men with Natural Products – Insights from King Nosa

Nosa Oshodi Usoh. An African man from Nigeria, based in Austria. The proud owner of Kingnosa Company
Nosa Oshodi Usoh

In a small Nigerian town, a young boy’s passion for hair care blossomed during his time at his grandmother’s house. Amidst the hustle of school and computer classes, he eagerly grabbed the chance to practice his skills by cutting his friends’ hair using his uncle’s clippers. This experience ignited a deep interest in the art of hairstyling and grooming. As the years passed, in 2016, he found himself in Austria, facing his own hair-related challenges. Determined to find solutions, he began experimenting with various oils and treatments to nourish and care for his hair. Through a series of trials and errors, he eventually formulated his own line of hair oil products that addressed his specific needs and concerns. His name is Nosa Oshodi Usoh. He is an African man from Nigeria, based in Austria. The proud owner of Kingnosa Company, which deals on quality organic hair growth oil. Let’s learn about hair care for men with natural products from King Nosa.

Aside from selling haircare products, Nosa is a professional hair stylist who cuts hair with a difference. He is one of the Nigerian youths who took their young age as their learning time. He is focus-driven, and his achievement has affected many individuals who look up to him. Nosa has spoken greatly about his organic hair oil a couple of times, but those who use the hair growth oil seem to have a louder voice than his. Majority has testified that KingNosa’s Hair Growth Oil is tested and trusted. From this inspiring journey of self-discovery and entrepreneurship, we learn that even a seemingly simple act like giving a haircut can have profound impacts on one’s life trajectory.

FAB: Can you share how your journey into hair care started?

King Nosa: My journey into the world of hair care commenced during my time in Nigeria, while I was still a student staying at my grandma’s place. It was a time filled with curiosity and experimentation. After my regular classes, I would eagerly attend extra computer lessons to broaden my skills. One fateful day, a friend of mine was in dire need of a haircut, and with no professional available, I took it upon myself to give it a shot. Armed with a borrowed clipper from my uncle, I nervously embarked on my first attempt at cutting hair. The result was far from perfect; in fact, it was a bit of a disaster. However, to my surprise, my friend flaunted his new haircut at a party, and it received unexpected praise from others. Encouraged by this incident, I continued to hone my skills by practicing on my brother, myself, and even my uncle.

The year was 2009 when my journey into the field of hair care truly began. In 2010, I took a leap of faith and opened a modest shop where I offered services in braiding and hair cutting. It was a humble start, but it laid the foundation for what was to come. Fast forward to 2016, when I relocated to Austria, a new chapter unfolded in my hair care venture. Struggling with hair loss in the middle of my scalp, I delved into natural remedies and began experimenting with various oils. Through trial and error, I concocted a blend that not only worked wonders for my own hair but also showed promising results for others. Intrigued by this discovery, I decided to delve deeper and sought professional testing to validate the efficacy of the oil.

After rigorous examination and analysis, it was confirmed that the oil I had formulated held great potential for hair care. This marked the genesis of my journey into creating and refining my own line of hair oil products. The process was filled with challenges and moments of self-discovery, but through dedication and perseverance, I was able to turn a personal experiment into a promising business endeavor. Today, as I look back on my humble beginnings in Nigeria, where I stand now, I am filled with gratitude for the experiences that have shaped my path in the world of hair care.

FAB: Can you tell us about your move to Austria in 2016? What was the experience like, and how have things changed for you since then?

King Nosa: The thing that has changed for me is the people. Back then, in 2016, we had a larger African community, but now most of them have relocated to the UK and the US, so it’s not that easy to reach more people. And also how to make awareness about the oil in my products.  Never miss a beat in fashion, arts, beauty, and lifestyle, follow FAB L’Style Magazine.

When I reflect on my move to Austria in 2016, the experience was a mix of excitement and challenges. The vibrant African community that existed back then provided a sense of belonging and familiarity in a new environment. However, over the years, I have noticed a significant shift as many members of the community have dispersed to the UK and the US in search of different opportunities.

This change has impacted my ability to connect with people who share similar cultural backgrounds and experiences. The support system that was once readily available has now become more fragmented, requiring more effort to reach out and build new connections. As a result, spreading awareness about the unique qualities of the oil in my products has become a more intricate task.

Despite these changes, I have adapted to the evolving landscape by exploring innovative ways to reach a broader audience. Through online platforms and strategic partnerships, I have been able to amplify the message about the benefits of the oil in my products. While the dynamics of the community have shifted, my determination to share my passion remains unwavering. Moving forward, I am committed to navigating these changes with resilience and creativity to continue making a positive impact.

FAB: So you find it more rigid now?

King Nosa: Yes, I do find it more rigid.

FAB: What have you been doing to combat that?

King Nosa: Well, currently, I have been actively working on creating a sense of community both on social media pages and in local group communities here in Austria. My main goal is to expand my reach and educate more individuals about the importance of proper hair care and the benefits of the products I offer. Utilising social media platforms has been instrumental in achieving this goal.

FAB: Many people see organic skincare as just a trend, with companies simply labelling products as “organic” to boost sales. Can you explain why organic products are more than just a passing fad? What are the benefits of using organic ingredients for our skin?

King Nosa: Absolutely. The misconception surrounding organic skin care products often stems from a lack of understanding. Organic products are derived from natural sources, such as plants, without the addition of harmful chemicals. Unlike conventional products, organic skincare items offer a more pure and gentle approach to nourishing the skin. For instance, organic ingredients like aloe vera and coconut oil not only hydrate the skin but also provide essential nutrients that promote overall skin health.

Understanding the Basics of Men’s Hair Care

FAB: With so many skincare products containing chemicals and artificial ingredients, what should people look out for when choosing skin care products? Are there any specific red flags they should be aware of?

King Nosa: It is crucial for consumers to carefully examine the ingredient list of skincare products before making a purchase. By scrutinising the contents, individuals can identify any potentially harmful substances that may cause adverse reactions. For example, ingredients like parabens and sulphates are known to irritate the skin and disrupt its natural balance. Being diligent in reading and understanding product labels can help individuals make informed decisions regarding their skincare routine.

FAB: Do you have some ingredients in mind that are not good for human skin? Have you discovered any?

King Nosa: While there are numerous ingredients that may not be suitable for all skin types, it is important to note that individual reactions can vary. For instance, certain fragrances or preservatives commonly found in skincare products can trigger allergic reactions in some individuals. It is always advisable to perform a patch test before incorporating a new product into your skincare regimen to avoid any potential adverse effects. By being mindful of the ingredients used in skincare products, consumers can better protect and nourish their skin in the long run.

FAB: Given that everyone’s skin is different—some have oily skin, others have sensitive or combination skin—how can organic skin care help address these different skin types from your own understanding?

King Nosa: I believe that conducting thorough research is crucial when developing any product. It’s important to understand what is safe for people to use. For example, in my case, I took my products to a lab for testing and shared samples with friends to gather feedback. Their good feedback helped us confirm that it’s safe, and then we proceeded with producing it.

When it comes to addressing the diverse skin types that people have, organic skin care can truly make a difference. For instance, individuals with oily skin often struggle to find products that don’t exacerbate their skin condition. By using organic ingredients like tea tree oil or witch hazel, which are known for their ability to regulate oil production and reduce acne, a skincare line can cater specifically to this skin type.

On the other hand, those with sensitive skin require gentle yet effective products to avoid irritation. Organic skincare can incorporate soothing ingredients such as aloe vera or chamomile, which are renowned for their calming properties. By formulating products with these natural components, individuals with sensitive skin can enjoy a skincare routine that nurtures and protects their skin without causing any adverse reactions.

Moreover, for individuals with combination skin, which poses a unique challenge due to having both oily and dry areas, organic skincare can offer tailored solutions. By combining hydrating ingredients like hyaluronic acid with sebum-regulating botanicals like rosemary extract, skincare brands can create products that balance the skin’s needs without clogging pores or causing dryness.

In conclusion, organic skincare has the potential to address the diverse needs of different skin types through thoughtful research, testing, and the use of natural ingredients that are beneficial for each skin condition. By prioritising safety, efficacy, and feedback from users, organic skincare brands can develop products that not only cater to individual skin types but also promote overall skin health and well-being.

Why Hair Care for Men with Natural Products is Essential

FAB: In your opinion, what are the essential products from your line that everyone should include in their daily skincare routine, especially if they want to maintain a simple and organic approach?

King Nosa: For men, it’s important to use healthy products like hair oil to keep their hair soft, shiny, and protected. It protects their hair from breakage, and dandruff helps their hair to regrow properly.

When it comes to maintaining a simple and organic skincare routine, incorporating essential products is key. In the case of men, using products like hair oil can make a significant difference. Hair oil not only helps in keeping the hair soft and shiny but also plays a crucial role in protecting it from breakage and dandruff. By nourishing the scalp and hair follicles, hair oil promotes healthy hair growth and overall hair health.

For example, a high-quality organic hair oil enriched with natural ingredients like coconut oil, argan oil, and vitamin E can provide the necessary nourishment for the hair. These ingredients not only moisturise the hair but also strengthen it from within, making it less prone to damage and breakage. Additionally, the anti-inflammatory properties of certain oils can help soothe the scalp and prevent conditions like dandruff.

Incorporating a hair oil into a daily skincare routine can be a simple yet effective way for men to take care of their hair in a natural and organic manner. By choosing products that are free from harmful chemicals and artificial additives, men can ensure that their hair receives the best care possible, leading to healthier and more resilient hair over time.

Avoiding Common Hair Care Mistakes

FAB: From your professional experience, what are some common skincare and haircare mistakes that you see people making that make you want to say, “How dare you do that to your skin?”

King Nosa: Some of the mistakes are people using harsh products like Minoxidil and some other tools for the skin, like the use of the Dermaroller. They don’t use it in the right way. For example, when using a Dermaroller, it’s crucial to roll it gently on the skin to stimulate collagen production without causing damage. Pressing it too hard can lead to soreness and potential injury, which is harmful to the skin’s health. It’s important to follow the instructions provided with such tools to ensure safe and effective usage.

Additionally, some individuals apply skincare creams infrequently, which can be detrimental to their skin. Consistency is key when it comes to skincare routines; using creams regularly, ideally every day or at least every two weeks, can help maintain skin health and hydration. Take hair oil, for instance; it should be applied consistently to the scalp and face to nourish the skin and promote hair growth. Neglecting to use products in the right way can result in ineffective outcomes and potential skin issues.

Moreover, many people overlook the importance of following product instructions diligently. If a skincare product specifies washing it off after an hour, failing to do so can lead to adverse effects on the skin. It’s crucial to adhere to the recommended usage guidelines to maximise benefits and minimise any potential risks. By understanding and correcting these common mistakes, individuals can improve their skincare and haircare routines for healthier and more radiant skin and hair.

FAB: Many organic hair products can be quite pricey, but you’ve managed to keep your prices affordable. How do you achieve the balance between using high-quality ingredients and ensuring your products remain accessible to everyone?

King Nosa: The products are made by professionals using high-quality ingredients, which is often why many skincare products are expensive. However, we try to minimise costs wherever possible to make our products accessible to everyone. While we maintain high standards, we also offer discounts to ensure that people can easily access our offerings without compromising quality.

Our team of skilled professionals meticulously selects the finest ingredients to craft our skincare products, ensuring that each item is of the highest quality. For instance, we source organic oils from sustainable farms and incorporate them into our formulations to provide nourishment and hydration to the skin. This attention to detail and dedication to using premium ingredients contribute to the overall effectiveness of our products.

Despite the market trend of high prices for quality skincare, we are committed to keeping our products affordable without sacrificing excellence. By streamlining our production process and optimising resource allocation, we are able to offer competitive prices without compromising on

the quality of our products. Furthermore, we periodically provide discounts and promotions to make our skin care solutions accessible to a wider audience.

In essence, our goal is to make luxury skincare attainable for everyone without compromising on the efficacy and integrity of our products. By balancing quality ingredients, cost-efficiency, and accessibility through discounts, we strive to empower individuals to prioritise self-care and skincare without breaking the bank.

FAB: For young Nigerian entrepreneurs based in Austria who aspire to follow in your footsteps, what advice would you offer to those in Austria or Africa looking to start their own businesses but unsure of where to begin?

King Nosa: I believe they should start with what they currently have. You don’t need to do what you can focus on, but you need to try with what you have. You don’t need to give what you don’t have. Try as much as possible to get the little you can afford to do what you want to do. Keep doing what you know is best and don’t give up.

Starting a business can be a daunting task, especially for young entrepreneurs in a new environment like Austria or Africa. It’s essential to begin with the resources you already possess. For instance, if you have a passion for baking but lack a professional kitchen, start small by baking from your home kitchen and selling to friends and family. This way, you utilise what you have without overextending yourself.

Moreover, it’s crucial to focus on what you can manage effectively. If you have limited financial resources, consider starting a business that requires minimal investment, such as a service-based company. For example, offering tutoring services or freelance writing can be lucrative with little to no initial capital.

Remember, success doesn’t come from giving what you don’t have but from making the most of what you do have. It’s about being resourceful and creative in utilising your existing assets to kickstart your entrepreneurial journey. By taking small steps and gradually expanding your business, you build a solid foundation for growth and sustainability in the long run.

Persistence is key in entrepreneurship. Even when faced with challenges or setbacks, it’s essential to stay committed to your goals and keep pushing forward. Rome wasn’t built in a day, and neither will your business. By staying dedicated to your vision and continuously learning from your experiences, you pave the way for success and fulfilment as an entrepreneur. So, keep moving forward, one step at a time, and never underestimate the power of perseverance in achieving your dreams.

FAB: You mentioned the importance of starting with what you have and not giving up. With that in mind, aside from your hair growth oil, you also sell clippers and shaving tools. What inspired you to expand your business beyond just hair care products? Is there a story behind that decision?

King Nosa: I discovered that many kids were developing bumps and rashes after getting their haircuts at salons, often due to the lack of proper sterilization of the clippers used. This raised concerns for me, so I thought, Why not provide people with access to their own personal clippers? By having their own machines, they wouldn’t have to rely on public equipment that may not be properly cleaned. That’s how I started selling my own clippers and shaving tools to offer a safer alternative for hair care.

Expanding on this idea, imagine a scenario where a parent takes their child for a haircut at the salon. The child excitedly sits on the chair, unaware of the potential risks associated with shared clippers. After the haircut, the parent notices red bumps on the child’s neck, prompting a visit to the doctor. This situation could have been avoided if the parent had their own set of clippers, ensuring a hygienic and safe haircut experience.

Furthermore, the importance of proper sterilization cannot be overstated. In a salon setting, time constraints and high customer volumes can lead to lapses in cleaning practices. By owning personal clippers, individuals can take control of their hygiene standards, reducing the risk of skin infections and allergic reactions. This shift towards personal grooming tools represents a proactive approach to self-care and health maintenance.

FAB: What’s next for King Nosa? Are there any exciting new products or projects on the horizon?

King Nosa: We have many exciting products in the pipeline that will soon hit the market. These products include a range of hair care essentials like shampoo, conditioner, and hair cream. Our commitment to quality and innovation drives us to constantly develop new and improved formulas to cater to the diverse needs of our customers.

Tips to Strengthen and Nourish Men’s Hair Naturally

FAB: To wrap up our conversation, what is your number one piece of advice for maintaining healthy and strong hair as we move into 2024 and 2025?

King Nosa: My advice would be to avoid using hot water on your hair. Many people believe that using hot water while washing their hair will help with hair growth, but it can actually be damaging. While it’s okay to use warm water, you shouldn’t stay under very hot water for too long in the shower, as it can quickly damage your hair. Some people claim to apply hair oil daily, but in reality, they might only do so once a month or even less frequently. It’s often an exaggeration. The best practice is to use the Kinosahe oil every day or every two to three days. It’s much better when you use the Kinosahe oil on your hair every day or every two days.

You also need to try as much as possible to comb your hair if you really want to grow your hair. For example, maybe there are dandruff or lice hanging beneath the hair, and that’s why you need to comb your hair to bring those things out and to allow the hair to breathe, to stretch it out. You need to avoid wearing a cap every time. It’s not safe. It makes you have bald hair. You need to avoid wearing a cap every time because if you wear a cap, the hair finds it difficult to breathe. So that’s one of the tips I will advise. Avoid wearing caps all the time. Check the ingredients of the product before using it or buying it to know which one is good for you or allergic to. Even If it’s a premium sample, there are samples that are not made for your type of hair. There are different products made for different types of hair.

Taking care of your hair involves more than just using the right products. You should also consider your hair washing routine. It’s important to not only focus on the products you use but also on how you use them. For instance, when washing your hair, make sure to massage your scalp gently to promote blood circulation, which can help with hair growth. Additionally, consider the frequency of washing your hair. While some people may need to wash their hair daily, others may find that washing every two to three days works better for them. It’s essential to find a routine that suits your hair type and lifestyle.

Furthermore, protecting your hair from environmental factors is crucial for maintaining its health. Exposure to sun, wind, and pollution can damage your hair, leading to dryness and breakage. Consider using protective spray or wearing a hat when going out in harsh weather conditions. Moreover, incorporating a hair mask or deep conditioning treatment into your hair care routine can help nourish and strengthen your hair, keeping it healthy and vibrant.
