Lipsticks (and lip products) are undoubtedly my favourite item of makeup. I still remember when I started working and I bought my first ever MAC lipstick, a matte lipstick in the shade Diva. I loved the name, the package, the texture and most importantly the feeling of power and control when I wear it, it’s like having very fancy warpaint.
I try to be chilled when these big launches are out but I couldn’t pass on the OG badass girl, Rihanna.
I respect and admire this woman a ton, she knows and loves makeup, she understands her millennial crowd and she is great at doing what she does best, being her fabulous self!
From the whole collection, I decided to pick up first some of the lip products (hence the intro): the Glossbomb and the Stunna Lip Paint.
Glossbomb in Fenty Glow:
If you think that this is ‘just a lipgloss’, you’re are wrong. It is not heavy on the lips, it is not super sticky and it has a slight tint that it is supposed to be suitable for all skin tones as it basically enhances your own lips. Plus let us not forget that it smells like candy from heaven. This is a perfect ‘no make up make up’ product and it is totally wearable.
Stunna Lip Paint in Uncensored:
Oh! This is another level of makeup. In one freaking dip and swipe, the lips are fully covered, the pigmentation is insane and the colour makes the teeth look white, (thank you blue undertones!). Rihanna developed this shade of red with the idea of it being universally suitable to all skin tones, and I might dare to say that she nailed it. The formulation is just great. It doesn’t smudge and it feels like having nothing in the mouth, I mean NOTHING. It is a long wearing lipstick that doesn’t dry out the lips, doesn’t sit in all of the creases and it stays after dinner and drinks. I have to say that I own a ridiculous amount of red lipsticks, but nothing like this. Amazing.
Just to conclude, the hype is f*cking real. Believe it!
