Adding “founder” to the many caps she slays effortlessly, award-winning singer Beyoncé Knowles-Carter has launched a new haircare brand that features patent-pending technology and fermentation for visible strength, moisture, and shine for textured hair.

The brand, ‘Cécred,’ promises to deliver  “what hair craves,” with rich conditioners and fortifying protein formulas containing ingredients like butters, oils, honey, and fermented rice water to strengthen weak, damaged, or highly manipulated hair.

Founder of Cécred, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter, founder and chairwoman, said in a statement: “The journey of creating Cécred has taken years, and I’m so proud to finally reveal what we’ve been working on. As a Black founder, it was important to me to concentrate on where I saw the greatest need for healthy haircare and to place scientific innovation and product performance above all else. We started by prioritising the needs of textured hair like mine, along with other types and textures that need more moisture and strength.

“My entire life and career, I’ve worn my hair in so many different ways: natural, flat-ironed, braids, coloured, weaves, and wigs. I want everyone to have the freedom to express their hair in ways that make them feel good, so I began by creating the essentials for hair and scalp health. My vision is to be an inclusive force of excellence in the haircare industry while celebrating hair rituals across global cultures and helping dispel hair myths and misconceptions on all sides.” – Beyoncé Knowles-Carter

Rihanna Allegedly Prepares to Release a New Dior Campaign

Apart from having a great birthday week with her family in Paris, industry sources have it that the iconic singer is in Paris to shoot a campaign at the Château de Versailles, set to be released in spring 2024. Recall that the artist’s first Dior campaign, “Secret Garden,”  was quite similar: a Steven Klein film shot inside the same historical location, Versailles. We expect Dior to show their womenswear fall collection in Paris next week. We’re keeping our fingers crossed to see if she’d be announced as an ambassador again.

Deborah Latouche Places Spotlight on Modest Clothing at LFW

In the midst of the influx of sheer and cut-out styles in the fashion industry, Deborah Latouche placed a spotlight on her emerging luxury modest fashion brand Sabirah during London Fashion Week. The London College of Fashion graduate said in a statement, “Ever since I became a Muslim, I’ve found it difficult to find clothes I liked, especially high fashion items that are in keeping with my religion,” Latouche told FashionUnited over Zoom ahead of her LFW catwalk show. “There is a real need for modest wear that’s actually fashionable, and it is nice for me as a designer to push the constraints of design to think about how to make it more interesting, because it is modest.”

She added, “For me, Sabirah fills a gap that isn’t trend led but instead filled with exquisite tailoring. We’re thinking about necklines and sleeves, whether it’s too tight or loose, and we can’t do backless. We really have to consider cuts, shapes, and forms. I am particular about the fabrics I use, they are really high-end, and it’s important to me to embrace responsible, sustainable production by using already existing fabrics and even vintage buttons, as well as manufacturing my pieces in the UK.”
