Make An Easter Basket with Gen-Z themed Goodies

Put together an Easter basket themed for Generation Z

One of my favourite parts that marks the end of Lent is the exchange of the bunny baskets. Easter is right around the corner—another season to create an iconic, themed, and memorable Easter basket. It’s always fun to add a contemporary edge to long-standing traditions, especially those that have been around for centuries. This one is for the Gen-Z.

Let’s pack an Easter basket, but first, do you know what an Easter basket is?

Origins of the Easter Basket

You might be familiar with the exchange tradition of Easter baskets at the end of the Lenten season. Families curate gift baskets filled with goodies and party favours to be given out to other families in church. Stay up to date on the newest in the world of Fashion, Arts, Beauty and Lifestyle; Follow FAB on Instagram.

There are a number of interesting stories about the origin of Easter baskets. There is a tale of German origin that says a bunny comes around overnight to leave a basket filled with coloured eggs for the obedient and well-behaved children.

It is also said to be a long-standing tradition of the Catholic Church to take these baskets to church filled with eggs, meat, and dairy products that were denied to the body during the period of the fast to be blessed by the priest.

The whole basket is a symbol of feasting, celebration, and new life. The Easter season is a peculiar time commemorating the death and resurrection of Jesus. It is also the start of spring, a new season, and a new beginning. In the spirit of newness and bliss of spring, both religious and non-religious folks partake in the basket’s tradition.

Get your Gen-Z baskets ready for Easter

It’s safe to say Gen-Z are the trending adults. The years between 12 and 27 are the formative and delicate years, and as a Gen-Z myself, I dare say it’s not an easy feat. I think it’s the perfect time to put together an Easter basket for my Gen-Z.
