BOBKOVA’s Ode to Ukrainian Nature with the New FW 2024/25 Lineup

BOBKOVA unveils the Fall-Winter 2024/25 fashion collection inspired by the beauty of Ukrainian nature

Ukrainian fashion brand BOBKOVA presented its Fall-Winter 2024/25 collection at Berlin Fashion Week on February 6th. Drawing inspiration from the Ukrainian harvest, the collection pays homage to the natural rich shades of local fruits such as cherry, plums, blueberry, blackberry, grapes, and pumpkin. The colour palette, as well as bird’s eye view images of Ukrainian fields, were the reference point for the print of the collection created by Ukrainian architect and artist Dasha Zima.

BOBKOVA’s Signature Experiments FW 24/25

BOBKOVA’s signature experiments with cut and tailoring continue in the FW 24/25 season. The theme of transformable garments is realised through details like adjustable strings, strategically placed on hemlines, collars, sleeves, waist, and hips on dresses, poncho shirts, tops, jackets, and even the traditional Ukrainian shirt. The goal is to make the garment multifunctional, enabling wearers to play with its form and silhouette. The use of different textiles has resulted in the creation of diverse shapes: silk produces flowy folds, while crispy cotton creates architectural volumes. Playing with the sartorial staples of a men’s suit, BOBKOVA uses grosgrain ribbons to create wide corset belts, shaping silhouettes when paired with blouses, dresses, and even outwear. Jackets also undergo transformation. One of the models features structured woolen uppers and silk bottoms that can be worn as shirts inside trousers, while a smoking jacket is decorated with shawl collars. Additionally, the designer presents interpretations of two-piece garments, such as striped dress shirts or sportive dresses with tutu skirts and separate bolero jackets.

The collection emphasises relaxed, informal styles with unfinished seams and hemlines. Some garments are reversible, offering a dual perspective on the same pieces: trouser pockets on the reverse side resembling basques, and skirts that can be worn either black or printed. These techniques showcase the brand’s commitment to craftsmanship, as well as celebrate the skilled masters working in BOBKOVA’s studio in Kyiv, where all the collections are designed and produced.
