Colon is just another name for the large intestine, a very important part of the digestive system. The job of the large intestine is to separate water and other nutrients, vitamins, and electrolytes from the food being digested. The solid, unneeded part is sent to the rectum, ready for ejection. All things equal, the colon does not really need any help to do its work, but if there’s something wrong in there, like constipation or an infection, it’s going to be an unusually hot day in hell for an individual.
What’s a Colon Cleanse?
A healthy, functioning colon is in a person’s best interest, don’t we all agree? A healthy diet rich in fibre with a good intake of fluid is your colon’s best friend. Keep it up, and there might not be a need for a colon cleanse. Research is very limited about the benefits of colon cleansing to colon health; however, colon cleansing is recommended pre-colonoscopy and for severe cases of diarrhoea, constipation congestion, and other tummy troubles. A cleanse is done to get rid of water and toxins from the intestine.
Cleansing Options
There are medical procedures, such as colon irrigation and enema, that I advise should be prescribed and administered by a trained professional. Also, natural remedies could be used by putting together everyday edible and safe herbs for mild cases of constipation and colon discomfort. The body is quite delicate. Too much or too little of something could be hazardous. I like to keep things as healthy as I can, but sometimes we don’t even get a say in how healthy the things we consume are. A natural cleanse will help with free bowel movements, inflammation, and overall health. Here’s my little trick to get things regulated down there:
Recipe
2 Apples
1 tsp turmeric
2 tbsp lemon
1 medium piece of ginger
1 cup of warm water
Instructions to make your colon cleansing drink:
Carefully blend all ingredients together till smooth; do not sieve the shafts. Gobble it down. Use all organic fruits.
