Belgian Designer Julie Kegels is thrilled to announce the launch of her eponymous label while presenting her FW2425 collection, 50/50, during the Paris Women Fashion Week
The Antwerp native honed her craft under the watchful eyes of fashion gurus Walter Van Beirendonck and Dirk Van Saene at the esteemed Royal Academy of Fine Arts’ fashion department. After an internship at Meryll Rogge & AIaTa with Pieter Mulier, Julie Kegels was ready to launch her own brand.
Enter Julie Kegels’ Ready-To-Wear debut, named 50/50, effortlessly blending contemporary elegance with a playful flair.
“A JK woman means business up front and party in the back!” quips the Belgian designer. Above-the-knee granny socks paired with a provocatively translucent back, wool skirts dancing with shortened denim rears, and serious pinstripes mingling with lively floral motifs.
The brand’s standout quality lies in its refusal to conform to a singular archetype. Whether drawing inspiration from modern influences or her own nostalgic memories, Julie Kegels’ creative process revolves around fully embracing fashion’s transformative power to craft her unique universe.
In this spirit, accessories—jewelry, bags, and shoes—harmonize elements from the past and present. Notably, Julie Kegels skillfully weaves romantic, old-world lace patterns into the collection using the latest thermoforming techniques, resulting in contemporary masterpieces. Enhanced by a blend of quirky preppy cuts, embossed florals, and trompe I’oeil knitwear, the collection breathes new life into timeless designs and solidifies Julie Kegels as a rising star in the fashion realm.
