FAB: Could you share a bit about your journey from Venezuela to your career accomplishments abroad? In other words, what’s your story?
Andrea Martinez: I was born in Caracas, Venezuela, and moved to England with my mum when I was 10. While I was always interested in acting as a child, the language barrier initially held me back from pursuing it. It wasn’t until a conversation with a family friend, where we discussed shared experiences and struggles, that I felt empowered to pursue my dreams. This led me to switch my studies to performing arts in college and attend acting school, graduating from the London School of Dramatic Arts in 2015.
Since then, I’ve had the opportunity to work on various international commercials, feature films, short films, and a three-part series featured on Amazon Prime Video. In 2017, I starred in the short film ‘Shadow’, receiving the ‘Best Newcomer’ award at the Marbella International Film Festival the following year.
Amidst the pandemic in 2020, with a decrease in acting opportunities, I pursued another passion by joining the radio show ‘Latin Heat’ on Flex FM 101.4, airing every Tuesday from 12-2 PM alongside my co-hosts Rosa and Kevin.
I then secured a live hosting role at Live Play Bingo, an interactive bingo game based in Los Angeles and the UK, where I gained valuable expertise in the live hosting industry. In 2022, I was honoured with a nomination for the NSMA ‘Best Presenter across Social Media’ award.
This year, I co-founded Cielo Records, a prominent UK-based talent management company specialising in representing and promoting Latin talent worldwide. We are dedicated to nurturing and showcasing the best Latin artists, musicians, and singers, providing them with exceptional management and support to elevate their careers and leave a lasting impact on the music industry.
FAB: As a co-founder of Cielo Records, what inspired you to venture into talent management, and what unique qualities or talents are you looking to promote within the international Latin scene?
Andrea Martinez: As an actress and entrepreneur, I understand the challenges artists face when entering the industry. Cielo Records provides comprehensive artist development, guiding them through music production, digital marketing, brand development, and industry connections to establish a strong foundation.

FAB: As an actress and entrepreneur, what challenges do you see for artists breaking into the industry today, and how does Cielo Records address these challenges?
Andrea Martinez: As an actress and entrepreneur, I understand that breaking into the entertainment industry can be incredibly challenging for aspiring artists. Some of the main hurdles include limited opportunities for exposure, a lack of resources and industry connections, and the competitive nature of the business.
Cielo Records addresses these by offering artists opportunities for global exposure, access to industry connections, professional development, collaborations, and business support. Our goal is to create an environment where Latin talent can thrive and overcome the hurdles of entering the industry.
FAB: Amidst your multifaceted career, what drives you the most? the art of acting, the thrill of presenting, or the entrepreneurial challenges of talent management?
Andrea Martinez: I really enjoy everything that I do. It’s hard to choose a favourite one. With talent management, I love that I’m able to see the bigger picture and see the potential of artists and how far they could go. Acting was my first love, so it’s just always going to have a special place for me, and it’s something I’m very passionate about. I love when I’m really in the moment and giving it my all. However, I would have to say I thrive the most in presenting, engaging in interviews, asking questions, and bringing out the best in people and conversations.
FAB: With Cielo Records focusing on international Latin talent, what unique opportunities and hurdles do you foresee compared to more mainstream talent management agencies?
Andrea Martinez: Focusing on international Latin talent presents unique opportunities and challenges. We leverage our expertise and network in the Latin music industry to support artists in reaching a global audience while addressing specific cultural and marketing needs.
FAB: What steps does Cielo Records take to ensure transparency and fairness in its talent management practices, particularly in negotiations and dealings with artists?

FAB: With your extensive experience, what advice would you give to aspiring actors or presenters looking to make a mark in today’s competitive industry?
Andrea Martinez: My advice to aspiring actors and presenters is to be persistent, network within the industry, develop diverse skills, build a strong personal brand, stay updated with industry trends, and maintain resilience in the face of rejection. FAB: Looking ahead, what exciting projects or aspirations are on the horizon for Andrea?
Andrea Martinez: For this new year, I can’t say too much about my plans, but I do have some film projects coming up that I’ll be starring in, a new show I am a part of as a presenter, and also new signings for Cielo.
Beauty and Fashion with Andrea Martinez
FAB: What is your daily beauty routine?
Andrea Martinez: Cleanse the face in the morning and add a moisturizer. I tend to not wear foundation unless I’m going out, like to an evening event or something. Every day, I keep it quite natural.
FAB: What’ve you learned about beauty?
Andrea Martinez: Trends and beauty standards are forever changing. I always stay up-to-date by looking at social media. However, it’s important to have good self-esteem, love yourself, and know that you look perfect just the way you are.
Drink lots of water, look after your skin with loads of moisturisers, and make sure you always take your make-up off and wash your face before bed.
FAB: What is your fashion hack?
Andrea Martinez: I keep up with trends just by looking on Instagram. To be honest, I follow different fashion influencers and get my inspo from them.

Andrea Martinez: Concealer! Haha, your girl works hard, so I may be looking tired sometimes. Concealer is my go-to always.

Andrea Martinez: I love how sneakers feel, but I also love how heels look.
- FAB: Home-made food eating out?
Andrea Martinez: Eating out, I enjoy getting cute and going to a nice place with an ambience.

Andrea Martinez: That’s so Raven, The Suite Life of Zac and Cody. Telenovelas
- FAB: If there is one particular city you have visited several times, where would it be?
Andrea Martinez: It would have to be either Barcelona in Spain or Larnaka in Cyprus. I’ve been to both a lot of times. Cyprus for family holidays and Barcelona; I just loved the vibe.
